Momofuku & Nuit Blanche

Hope you are having an awesome weekend! Honey Bun and I enjoyed our weekend as usual. Due to our studies, we only have ONE day in a week that we head out together, so we always try to cherish that as

much as possible, always trying to make the best out of it.

This week, Honey Bun brought me to this newly open ramen restaurant in Downtown Toronto - MOMOFUKU. The place was beautiful, it was part of the building of Shangri-La Hotel. It's consisted of 3-floors; ground floor - noodle bar, second floor - bar, third floor - fine dining. Due to our evening plans, we went there at 9 pm and the wait was one-hour long, but we were prepared for it and was pleasantly waiting.

We ordered the cute little buns as the appetizer - you can choose chicken, pork or shiitake. We ordered chicken, it was delicious, too bad we didn't have anymore room to try the pork. I heard it was better. We ordered the signature Momofuku Ramen (pork belly & shoulder, fish cake and egg), with the Chicken & Egg on Rice (smoked chicken, marinated cucumbers & scallion). Both were pretty good! In my personal opinion, I thought this place was much better than Kinton Ramen, in every single way. The service was fab, we had a great time! Only the menu was extremely small, if we come back, we would probably end up ordering the same thing. So we were planning on trying the fine dining next time - Daisho.

After dinner, we went to one of the biggest event of the year in Toronto - Nuit Blanche 2012. We had so much fun last year, this year we had to go back. It was around 11 after we finished dinner, grabbed a coffee before heading to the closed zones. Our journey started at 11 pm and we went home at 5 am. The city was so live we didn't want to leave at all! Overall the experience was cool, but we have to admit last year's was better. Last year the exhibits were concentrated together on two main streets, whereas this year it was more spread out. We needed a lot more of energy getting around and seeing most of the exhibits. And this year had a lot more of projection presentations, last year's it had more of interactive experiences. The most memorable one I remember was probably the cake icing graffiti. Either way, we will attend again next year :)

We had a romantic night. My kind of romantic night is holding hands, dressing warm and cozy, running around on the streets laughing and giggling, small talks, hugging and kissing in the middle of this beautiful city. Thanks Honey Bun for another great weekend! We are back to studying for a week and guess what we are up to next weekend? Off the the far east side of Canada!

Thank you for reading!
